Iceland

Known as ‘the land of ice and fire’, this rugged volcanic isle certainly lives up to its name!

Iceland is a short enough flight from the UK to be enjoyed in a long weekend or you can choose to take a longer and more comprehensive round-island holiday.

On a short break to Reykjavik, Iceland’s vibrant capital, you can take a dip in the thermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, ride in Superjeeps to Thorsmork Valley or take a trip around Iceland’s ‘Golden Circle’ to the mighty Gullfoss Falls, Geysir, the original geyser after which all others are named and Europe’s oldest parliament at Thingvellir. To cap it all off, if you are really lucky you may also get to see the remarkable Northern Lights that are best viewed between October and March.

Venturing out of the capital, you can go snowmobiling on the Snaefellsjokull glacier on our family tour or explore on foot the beautiful landscapes around Lake Myvatn on our 10-day round-island tour. Iceland is also a great place to go whale watching, and our summer tours offer the chance for optional whale watching from Reykjavik.
