DAY 01: Arrive Colombo

Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Negombo.

DAY 2: Sigiriya

After breakfast you will be driven to Sigiriya, en route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a World Heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle.  The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock.

DAY 3: Girithale

Travel to Habarana and afterward proceed to Girithale. En route visit the ancient city of Plonnaruwa.
Experience a safari on elephant back in the village and reserve of Habarana. Visit Plonnaruwa, it was the 2nd capital of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th & 12th centuries AD and now a World heritage site. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya where 4 splendid statues of Buddha in ‘Upright’, ‘Sedentary’, and ‘Recumbent” postures carved out of rock can been seen. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of the former Temple of the Tooth Relic.

DAY 4: Girithale

Walk in the village of Girithale and observe the culture of the villagers. Taste an authentic Sri Lankan meal made at a home. If you like it is also possible to explore further on bicycles.

DAY 5:  Kandy

Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and now a World Heritage site. Walk around Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhalese king, Sri Vickrama Rajasinghe. Visit Kandy town & bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, gem museum and soak up the culture. Also take the opportunity to visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy.

DAY 6: Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Due to its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, it is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of the country’s tea country, producing a significant share of the world’s best tea.  Sri Lankas  highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is also located here. Nuwara Eliya also has one of the finest 18-golf course in South Asia.

DAY 7: Horton Plains

Trekking adventure in the Horton Plains.  Located high on a windswept saddle at about 7000-ft elevation. The Plains are an expanse of misty grassland with scraggy trees and ice-cold rivulets. Visit Worlds end, considered to be the finest view in all of Sri Lanka The awesome escarpment drops vertically for about 4000 ft., hence its name as Horton Plains. Here you can find endemic Red Slender Loris and Purple monkeys as well as Sri Lankan Leopards, stripe-neck Mongoose and Sambar deer. It is also home to amphibians and over 80 species of birds.

DAY 8: Yala National Park

Today you travel to Yala, visiting the famous Ella Gap with its stunning scenery en-route.On arrival at your hotel the rest of the day is at leisure to explore the town of Kataragama and its sacred temple.

DAY 9: Yala National Park

Safari in Yala, which is the largest national park in Sri Lanka. It is home to wild elephants, wild buffalos, leopards, bears, deer and crocodiles. Large flocks of indigenous birds are also found here.

DAY 10: Beruwala

After breakfast drive to the small resort town of Beruwala on the south west coast of the island. Enjoy the day at leisure on the beach.

DAY 13: Colombo

After breakfast drive to Colombo. In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the city.

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
