Treasures of the Nile

Day 1

Arrival at Cairo International Airport you will be met & transferred to your hotel for overnight. 

Day 2

After breakfast, start a full day visiting the Pyramids built at Giza during the 4th Dynasty the oldest of the seven wonders and The Only ones remaining intact today. Then we will proceed to Lord of the Sphinx" Lord of Setpet, the Chosen Place.". We will continue to the Solar Boat. It was discovered in 1954, when the ground was cleared for a tourist road and a series of 40 slabs of limestone were found set into the ground. Then we carry on to the impressive sites of Memphis and Sakkara.
Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, board your Nile Cruise boat. Then proceed to visit the Valley of the Kings and the many tombs found there.  We will also visit Hatshepsut Temple which is one of the most characteristic temples due to its design and decorations. The Temple was built for the great Queen Hatshepsut (18th Dynasty). Then we will proceed to Colossi of Memnon. These two colossal statues (about 20 meters high) of the deified Amenophis III once flanked the entrance of the first pylon at the pharaoh's mortuary temple.
 In the afternoon, we will visit Karnak Temple. The Temple of Karnak is the largest Temple in the World! Then we will head to Luxor Temple. It was known in the New Kingdom period as Ipt-Rsyt, which means the southern shrine, Amenhotep III built Luxor Temple.  Return to cruise boat for overnight.

Day 4  CRUSING THE NILE

Breakfast on board. Sail to Esna.  Lunch on board.  Sail to Edfu, dinner and overnight on your cruise boat.

Day 5

After breakfast, we will visit Edfu temple.  The origins of the Temple probably date back to the Second Intermediate Period, but the actual Temple only dates back to Ptolemaic times. Sail to Kom Ombo then visit Kom Ombo temple. The Temple was mainly dedicated to the God Sobek, the crocodile God. Sail to Aswan, overnight on board.

Day 6

Start your day by visiting the High Dam. As a result of the Dam, a lake was formed “lake Nasser”, which is the world’s largest manmade lake. Then we will visit the Unfinished Obelisk. It is believed that it was constructed and abandoned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (18th Dynasty). Lastly we visit Philae Temple which was called in Hieroglyphic “Apo” which means Ivory.  In the afternoon take a felucca ride around Agha Khan mausoleum and visit the Botanical gardens. Return back to cruise for overnight.

Day 7

After breakfast, be at leisure until flight to Cairo.  Upon arrival into Cairo you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 8

A full day to tour around  Old Cairo. The Hanging Church derives its name from its location on top of the southern tower gate of the old Babylon fortress; it is the most famous Coptic Christian church in Cairo.  Then to Ben Ezra Synagogue, then Saint Sergius church will be our next stop. This church was originally built in 684 AD.  We will then take time to explore the Egyptian museum. Afterwards we will visit Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. It is an ancient shopping area, dating back to 1382. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 9

Transfer to the airport for your flight out.
